The Challenge- Low D2C Sales
CocoCaramel, an independent chocolatier in Aberdeenshire wanted to elevate their digital presence and increase D2C online orders. Their existing website did not reflect the craftsmanship of their hand-crafted products nor did it consider user journeys for new customers discovering the brand. Key words were limited and visibility in search results was too; CocoCaramel was not competing.

Working in partnership with the founder of CocoCaramel, Helen, I designed and implemented an online transformation. This began with a refinement and implementation of brand guidelines as well as a new, conversion-focused website that reflected the brand’s care and attention to chocolate making. CocoCaramel's unique brand story became the heart of the user experience.
Alongside the new website, I developed a comprehensive email automation strategy that moved CocoCaramel's values beyond the online store touchpoint. Follow-up emails earned reviews, created user-generated content and increased repeat purchases, while and abandoned cart emails boosted once lost sales and email newsletters developed a much needed hype among brand fanatics.
Paired with a consistent social media presence, CocoCaramel's online D2C sales increased by 32% in the first quarter.
